Invoices, Decals and Paperwork

This is an original Warranty Identification Card that was included when a Mustang II was purchased new from the dealer. Attached to the card was a small, metal plate that contained most of the information found on the door data tag. This particular card was found in the glovebox of a 1978 Coupe purchased from the original owner recently in Michigan. This slip of paper was found in the same vehicle as the warranty card shown on the far left. This "notice" indicated that the Coupe was road tested after the assembly of the car and prior to delivery to the dealer. This paperwork was included to explain the extra mileage on the vehicle at the dealership.

This is the build sheet from the first production Mustang II. The car was a Silver Metallic Mach 1, with light silver vinyl interior, the V-6 engine, four speed manual trans and a 3.55:1 axle ratio. The Rotation number on the build sheet is number 1 and the VIN unit number was 100023. The schedule date was July 30, 1973 and the DSO code 84 was Home Office Reserve. The original owner of this document was on the assembly line when the car came through and kept the build sheet. This is copy of an original sales invoice for a King Cobra. Two copies existed of these invoices. One went with the car and the other was retained by Ford Motor Company. The invoices for all the Mustang IIs are currently in the hands of a Ford Employee.

This invoice belongs to Ed Gribble who is the owner of the 1978 King Cobra. It was purchased new with only 3 options which are listed on the invoice. His car can be viewed by clicking HERE.

This is copy of an original build sheet that was used on the assembly line to let the workers know what was to be installed on the car. The sheet was usually put back into the car before complete assembly. You can sometimes find the sheet under the carpeting, behind side panels or under/in the seats. The picture you see here is of a build sheet that is blank and has not been used.

The image you will see when you click on the image to the left will be quite large to allow you to read the various areas of the sheet.
The Mustang II Network was featured in a German Auto Magazine. Apparently, the site was seen be someone in Germany who decided to write to the magazine. Click HERE for the translation.
